Dust treatment in the food industry

In this case study, we present an intervention carried out for a company in the food industry in Northern Italy, specialized in flavoring processes. During production phases, dust and vapors are generated and must be effectively extracted and treated to ensure air quality and operational continuity.

dust treatment in the food industry

Problems

  • Emission of dust and vapors during the flavoring process
  • Need for effective capture directly at the emission source
  • Integration with the existing system
  • Requirement to maintain high aeraulic performance
  • Need for continuous monitoring of operating parameters
  • Requirement for hygienically suitable solutions

Technical features Idrodust Compact

  • ID103V filtration system – Idrodust in AISI 304 stainless steel
  • Abatement technology: hydrodynamic filtration (Venturi effect)
  • Fluid tank: 350 liters
  • High-efficiency droplet separator
  • Motor: 4 kW
  • Electrical panel with inverter
Solutions

HF designed and installed a complete extraction and filtration system based on Idrodust technology, integrated with dedicated extraction hoods. The intervention included the installation of two stainless steel hoods positioned above the rotating flavoring tunnel, designed to ensure effective capture of emissions at the source. The extracted air is conveyed to a hydrodynamic abatement system, which uses micro-mixing with water to remove dust, vapors, and gases. The system is completed with an electrical panel with inverter and the HF Monitoring platform for continuous and remote control of operating parameters.

Advantages
  • Effective dust capture directly at the source
  • Improved air quality
  • System suitable for food environments (stainless steel)
  • Continuous monitoring and optimized system management
  • Reduced pressure drop and improved aeraulic performance
